The Ultimate Snow Day!

After receiving a call at 8 p.m. last night for a two hour delay today, we ended up with school being cancelled all together. So, the kids decided to take advantage of the icy conditions on our very steep driveway!
Getting ready for the action!

Mallory aka "The Princess" appears to have raided her brothers' closets for warmer clothing. Without that pink Bengals hat and Tinkerbell boots, she looks like "one of the boys"!!

Marshall takes the "back way" down the hill!

John's newest sport invention......BODY BOARDING!

There were some crash landings as well!

Later in the day, John headed to the "High School Hill" to do some snowboarding with his friends. I wish I had a picture of when he wiped out a few feet after this picture! That would have been a good one too!

Spotlight on "the boys"!

Last weekend was the "Blue and Gold" Banquet in which Marshall "crossed over" from three years as a Cub Scout to being an official Boy Scout.

For us the hightlight of the ceremony was when he played "American the Beautiful" on piano. We were so proud of him! The "Arrow of Light" ceremony is quite special in scouting.

At their first meeting on Tuesday he was voted by his peers as "Patrol Leader". He is so excited and cannot wait for summer camp at the end of June! Neither can I....he and his brother will both be gone the same week! Anyone want to take "dibs" on the girl?

As you can also see in the pictures he is now sporting glasses!

John is now the proud owner of a full set of braces! After a few days of soreness he is adjusting well. Look out girls!!

Are you pleased now Lucy????

Couldn't ask for a better day!

GO HOOSIERS!

So, knowing me like my husband does, his special treat to me for Valentine's Day was to send me to an Indiana Basketball game last night. Best of all, he volunteered to stay home with M&M and sent John with me. Not often to I get a "night out" with my teenage son. I had a great time, and I think he did too!

Yeah, I know all about the cheating allegations, but it's still my team. Hopefully this week they will decide to get rid of the coach, then we can get over the penalties and move forward to getting this mess cleaned up(albeit five years maybe!)

So, when we get home at 11:30 I am thinking how it will be quiet and the kids asleep....NOT! They were up and having a blast, so we ordered pizza and had a pizza party at MIDNIGHT!!!

It's a beautiful day!!!

Why? It's because pitcher and catchers have reported to Spring Training in Sarasota, Florida! Among the "others" to report is one Ken Griffey, Jr. Best of all, my new favorite Red, Brandon Phillips, signed a long term contract yesterday and will be a Red for a few years!!
